» The "Blessing" of "Sitting Still"
Brother Ken
Posted January 11, 2012 by Brother Ken in Small Bites
I love the following quote by philosopher Blaise Pascal. I was inspired by it a few years ago and just ran across it again:

All the troubles of man come from his not knowing how to sit still

Amazing! Certainly over simplified and a broad generalization, but from a philosophical and a kind of gut-wisdom it wreaks of truth. It also reinforces the need for reflection, mediation, and whatever we can do that encourages being still and knowing....

So, as I am growing, as we are evolving together with raised awareness and consciousness.....we are increasing our stillness in sitting....in BEING....in presence....How simple...how powerful, but how difficult in our loud-always-running-around-world!

I love this quote! Being able to be still is difficult sometimes but it is so rewarding. Even when your mind is every which way and your body isn't moving getting your mind to be still might take some time but it is well worth the wait.

It is difficult in this crazy world we live in. Even when I resided in the most laid back city in Europe for a bit, it was still hectic to get any sense of awareness of myself.

But such is life.

Yes, for sure.....It reminds me of the phrase, "Wherever we go we take outselves with us!" Peace, Ken,.
