» Beyond Humpty Dumpty
Brother Ken
Posted May 8, 2012 by Brother Ken in 12 Step Spirituality
After over three years of writing hundreds of blogs on recovery sites (i.e. Myrecoveryspace.com) I've finally come to publish my first book: "Beyond Humpty Dumpty - Recovery Reflections On The Seasons of Our Lives". I didn't join this site last year to promote a future book, but I did join to continue to grow spiritually and help others do the same. To go "beyond humpty dumpty' in any healing and recovery in our lives means this:

Since 'all the kings horses and all the kings men' could not put Humpty together again...we have to go 'beyond'. We have to go to a source, a power, a force greater than ourselves, however you describe that healing power. This has been the story of my life and the new story in my book. I believe, and have seen this in thousands of peoples lives and hundreds of lives each week in the people I work with and in the recovery meetings I attend.

The KEY is giving as many of the hurting past broken pieces of our lives to that Power greater than ourselves. Allow that loving, healing power, as the song goes, "Take these broken wings and learn to fly!" My God is able to take any pieces I give and create a BRAND NEW CREATION....and miracle of miracles---something even better than I was before. Something that I could never become if I had not been broken.

Blessings as we continue to go beyond.
Ken

ps - I added a video today that better explains this sharing.

Thanks Jack, and Ken and Chelsea....I love this theme that has flourished in so many people's lives....I'm thankful to be part of that transformation as so many on this site are.....Thanks Ken about the title comment....that too has slowly emerged over the years and I was glad to get the domain rights, at least for a year and I'll keep renewing I guess.......I love that our scars can become beautiful...that suffering is redemptive....and on some days we are carried so that we can carry others on other days. There's that U2 song 'One" where they sing, "We get to carry each other....." Nice........Joy in the Journey......Ken.

I love when people who suffer some ailment overcome it, then help others who suffer something similar. It's always easier getting through a tough time when someone is there to help and relate to. Nice work!

Our lights do shine in different but integrated ways Ken. This is a great way of putting it. Good luck with the success of your book.
