The early church was admonished to move on from talking about the historical birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus and to grow into the maturity of life in the Spirit. This daily call to maturity is a clarion call to new life. It is not just an exhortation to change but a clear call to put to death the old man and create him anew. It is a call to an entirely new way of thinking, new attitudes, a renewed mind and heart.
