Having love and respect for the beauty material possessions can have. It's not the lack of possessions that makes a space spiritual, but the careful choice that reflects your inner being, your heart. Of course, having loving pets and family members adds to it but the foundation has to be there in the form of physical beauty. I'm constantly amazed at the beauty some people are able to put into the products they create. It's a shame one has to involve money in this, but the truth is one can create a soulful environment without a lot of money too.
The parents, caregivers, must take time to define what love and spirituality means to them. Once they have the blueprint, then implement it into the home under peace.
thankfulness, awareness of the blessings present....an open, welcoming attitude of gratitude for even having a home that is a spiritual place....like stained glass windows, a place that will allow the LIGHT to continue to shine in and through....a place for another that may not have a home....a respite for weary travellers....the gift of hospitality.
For me, there is nothing that makes something more spiritual, because that implies 1. that anything needs to be more than it is and 2. that there are two things: something that needs to be more spiritual, and something else that will provide that. We often get closer to understanding this oneness when we are still and quiet, or when we see something extraordinarily beautiful. Other times it takes a great fall, a loss to open our eyes to this reality. So it is only our perceptions that change and then we "feel" something is more spiritual.
