Yes, I believe in karma. For me it's inextricably linked with reincarnation: the idea that this consciousness of mine has had human (and other) births in previous lives and that what I did, thought and said in those lives are causes for my present talents and circumstances.

Karma is of course also one of the reasons why we should try and live in harmony with the deepest truth we can see - in harmony with people, giving, sharing, avoiding harming any being, accepting what is yet fighting for what is right. That's called 'guarding karma' in Tibetan Buddhism.

Hi! Wow - another word - KARMA. I guess just like every other word, each person hears "Karma" and conjures up an image, based on personal experiences, beliefs, etc. What is Karma? Is it what you get because of how you've acted in the past?
I see no good, nor bad, no universal judgement, nor retributions. Everything I see is all one thing (which is not a thing Smile). I see everything as life. We tend to strive to think things through - to have something to chew on - contemplate - so we can work our way out of a struggle which we created with our thinking!
I see simplicity. Life is just moving along...I take my cues from nature and animals. I know for sure that I can create what shows up for me to see. I know I will never see what I do not believe. "Karma" sounds like I need to behave in a certain way to please the universe. If I am authentic and loving and paying attention to what is needed in front of me this instant, I feel tapped into the oneness. When I fret, doubt, fear...it feels like I am separate. I don't worry about behaving because I know that everything is perfect just as it is.

I think that we often are co-creators in our own future. Not the only creators...but co-creators. If we befriend someone...we have more friends later. If we are mean and people don't like to be around us, we often have fewer people around for support. If we recycle, our own world is better, if we don't our world has more trash.

But I am not the only one in this world, others love, care, recycle, hate, or trash too....and nature itself is an actively creating force as well. So, Karma...maybe...or maybe something else.

hello all, my first thoughts on your question: from my experience ecerything is energy , so our every word , thought , action.. is energy so I send energy out into the universe every time I speak , think or act.. and I attract what I think and believe , so when I speak poorly of someone that energy goes off and hence I am attracting negative energy so low and behold what comes back to me?? I believe this is what people are refering to when they use the word karma... So I would have to say I believe in karma, or to be more precise ... I experience karma. I can,t plant an apple seed and harvest an orange Smile

Hey Stormie.
Ya know, I've encountered this topic before at least a dozen times. And for me i have to say this... EVERYTHING,EVERY WORD, ALL OF OUR THOUGHTS are those of HUMAN construct. Our ideals, feelings, books, words etc... Words are just words. It's kind of like this... I don't like this question... If a tree falls in the woods, does it still make a sound ? Here's my issue with this... What in freaking creation makes we humans think that if a human isn't present... Nothing has happened ? Was there a human present when the supposed BIG BANG happened ? NO! So... Did it really happen ? After all a human was NOT present ! Good, evil, happy, sad... These are all words, just like every other that mankind has made up to describe something. Karma ? Does what go around come around ? Does good happen for Bad ? Does bad happen to good ? No doubt ! But to say that there is some divine order to the madness? I don't know. But fact is... Here, there are only us, and really there are just so many things that are bound to happen. "Inevitability" ALWAYS plays a factor. Consider the constant circle of life.Until we evolve into something different, with different thought patterns and concerns, the circle will continually repeat itself. And that is what this small insignificant human thinks Smile
