Great question that can have different answers for different people. I personally don't think of it as a religious holiday, but I could see how others might.

My reason being as a child of God;LOVE is the predominate element of my being which is a daily thing. it is not an emotion relegated to just family and friends. It is also an action word. LOVE isn't LOVE till you give it away!!!
