What do you think about someone like Tim Tebow praying in public? Is it ok? Do you disagree? This has been all over the news. What do you think about Tebow?
Hi, I'm new. Praying in public... I have no objection, although I feel it is best to do privately. I am not big on prayer (overrated) personally. I advocate bliss, celebration, happiness, and kindness. They are much better than prayer. They reduce much more unnecessary suffering. I think I would like to see more dancing and singing in public, however. The football player looks tortured. Probably is. Maybe some dancers would help...

Thanks Stormie for the invite. If you travel in any Muslim country, 5 times a day, wherever they are, devoted Muslims pull out their prayer rugs, face Mecca, and pray. Perhaps Tebow is such a lightning rod on this is because so few people pray publically. Prayer for Tebow is simply an extension of who he is, his faith, and he cannot hide that, even in a public setting. I'm not implying that to pray or not to pray publically defines how spiritual one is; I am saying that it can be refreshing and inspiring to observe genuine public prayer as an extension of ones faith.
HI Stormie. I had to look up who Tim is. I'm thinking this is because I don't follow football, pay attention to the news or watch television! But now that I am up to speed - I think that anyone who has found a way to connect with his/her source for inspiration or strength and who disregards the opinions of others while doing so, has discovered the kingdom of heaven. If people are upset with his actions, it is because of their own fears of walking unaccompanied, something we all must ultimately do. Some will fight to the death for homogeneity, not understanding the freedom in living alongside others, but from a more honest place in your heart.
