What do you pray for?

What do you pray for? Do you think you should talk about what you pray for or is it like a wish that you don't tell people about?

I don't think of prayer as asking or wishing for anything. For me, it is consciously connecting with the Divine. It is more of a re-alignment, a tuning in to that which is the root of my being. It need not take long - and as soon as I make this connection, all pursuant decisions and actions are effortless - filled with ease and joy. There is a calm knowing that this humanness is infinitesimal compared to the the vastness of who I really am. We are not separate from the Divine and we are not separate from one another. I feel I need to pray routinely to remind myself of this.

I like that prayer is just talking with my understanding of the Divine. People will say 'Why pray if God already knows everything you need already??' a good answer is a relationship! A living relationship, not simply religion...a relationship that can talk and laugh and cry and wrestle and ???? I like PRAY: Praise, Repentance, Asking, Yielding. This last one is tough---listening---What would YOU have me do? I like the statement that Prayer is Talking to God and Meditation is Listening to God.

Mostly Divine light & guidance, grace, etc...my prayer to God is actually how I live my life, & manifest that love & light.

As far as, sharing your prayer with others goes...since it's your prayer, that's up to you. What is important is that it's sincere & heartfelt.... I think God would be the judge of that.

I'm personally more comfortable praying in silence, but then...to each his own.

I think that there is power in prayer, and by talking about it or asking your friends in faith the share in your prayers, just makes our voices that much louder. I pray to keep growing in my faith and to have peace in my heart.

I think any thought is a prayer, a statement is a stronger prayer, and if you talk about it with OTHERS it should be people that you can trust. because their prayers (thoughts) count too. so in summary... yes. lol.
