“Thank you for giving us a chance. You showed us that we are worth it and to believe. It was an amazing experience.” J.B.

Those words came from an incarcerated child, a child locked away from family, community, and society—a child who now has a sense of something positive he or she might do and be in this world.

In Release the Fear workshops Youth discover that they can turn their Pain into Possibilities, take the new found Possibilities and find their Purpose in their life. In 2011alone, through our Inside Out: Bridging Possibilities workshops, Release the Fear reached out to nearly 600 youth ranging from eleven to nineteen years of age. These youth discovered both fear and hope within them, and they gained confidence and inner strength by releasing one and embracing the other. These 600 were helped, but there are thousands more who need our program and the life-skill tools it offers. And, seeing our impact in these detention and treatment centers, we realize the need to reach out to youth before they get to that point.

The Maricopa County Juvenile Probation Office released a 2010 report demonstrating the value of Inside Out: Bridging Possibilities workshops on their juvenile population. Thirty percent of incarcerated youth recidivate—meaning three out of ten will again find themselves in conflict with law and society and back behind bars. For the incarcerated youth who participated in just one Release the Fear workshop, that recidivism figure dropped by 23 percent. For those who were able to benefit from multiple workshops, it dropped by 46 percent—nearly half. That is an impressive impact on any child’s future. Release the Fear programs offer the hope of fewer dollars spent and more youth saved—a win-win program. We can do this with your help. Thank you for letting them know they are worth it.

I've followed and supported Robert's work for 15+ years. He's a pleasure and I beleive RTF is very worthy of a significant amount of financial help. His work at 3rd and Roosevelt is a reminder that real transformation can truly occur.

I would like to nominate Release the Fear to receive one of your $10,000 grants/donations. RTF is a wonderful program that positively effects the lives of children involved with the juvenile justice system by helping them explore the feelings and circumstances that have caused them to be in challenging situations. RTF has helped its participants find their voices when they thought they had none. As a result, RTF's programs have decreased the recidivism rates of the children that have participated with the program. If awarded this grant/donation, RTF will be able to touch many more children and their families.

"Release the Fear" HAS BEEN A LIGHT FOR SO MANY YOUTH THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED DARKNESS.PLEASE VOTE FOR "RELEASE THE FEAR"THIS ORGANIZATION HAS SO MUCH TO GIVE TO OUR FUTURE.In growing up we all know that we needed a positive mentor in our life, whether it be a parent, family member, the community, friend, etc. "Release The Fear" can be there for our youth who do not have a positive person to turn to. "Release the Fear" has shone light on each that has experienced darkness. Please help them to continue to light the way.

I am on the Board of Release the Fear and the reason I joined was for the simple fact, it is helping youth that are forgotten or written off- it is through the workshops that the youth learn that they can change the directions and quality of their lives.

I have been on the board of Release The Fear as the Treasurer for over 9 years. We have relied on the continued support of our donors to keep the organization going. If we had a dollar for all of the countless hours put in by our generous volunteers over the years we wouldn't need to ask for donations, but we don't. We aren't like many non-profit organizations in the Valley that have local celebrates to promote us. We rely on people that either have been through the workshops or have some way or another been touched by the program. Now more than ever, we need the support of charities like this one to sustain our mission.

Release the Fear has given many people a feeling of hope and self worth when all else has failed. Giving them such a feeling of positiveness at such a influential time in their life can help mold their way to a road of success. Release the fear gives them that opportunity.

I volunteered for Release the Fear this past summer at Estrella Jail. We worked with the juvenile girls that were awaiting sentencing. I had no idea what to expect going into the three day workshop but I came out with a new perspective and appreciation for the smaller things in life. I met several girls, each with their own fears, dreams, and reservations. I could tell they were hesitant at first to the process of opening up and sharing their feelings. It was amazing to witness their transformation from day 1 to day 3. Each exercise brought them more and more together and also revealed their own individual strengths. Dreams were being dreamt and goals were being realized. Beauty salon owners, cosmetologists, doctors, and pharmacy technicians were all being born at Estrella. The organization helped each girl realize what their true goals were in life. The workshop not only helped them to realize that there is a bright and colorful world to be lived outside of those walls, but also that their dreams ARE possible to attain. Just because they call it a dream, does not make it unrealistic.
I cannot think of a more deserving organization than Release the Fear. The organization can truly impact thousands of people’s lives. Showing someone the light when all they see is darkness is truly a gift and that is what Robert does for every person he helps; he gives them the gift of light. I am truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to witness it.

I have interacted with Robert for over 20 years as he works with those youth whose lives are needing positive creative opportunities to realize their dreams. Release the Fear is an amazing organization. Thank you Robert.
