Please help us nominate Peer Solutions for a Spirit and Words Award. They just celebrated 15 years in Phoenix working to cultivate SAFETY, EQUALTY AND RESPECT as norms to prevent harm before it begins. Their program is called STAND & SERVE (S&S). S&S members meet weekly during lunch, after school and the summer as well as participate in on-going service projects, facilitate at local and national conferences and host events like bi-annual S&S Days at the Capitol, Town Halls and potlucks.
Our STAND & SERVE Coalition meets monthly at the Phoenix Public Library and has spent the past two years developing a new initiative called THE GUTS TO BE GOOD (G2BG). Five things we can all do to make the world a better place. 1. The guts to be RESPECTFUL, 2. The guts to be COURTEOUS, 3. The guts to SPEAK UP, 4. The guts to be HONEST and 5. The guts to LEND A HAND.
Peer Solutions is a grassroots organization reaching over 30,000 people a year and that number including the waiting list for school communities is growing. Unfortunately, Peer Solutions was recently, unexpectedly cut $46,000 from Federal Prevention Funds. We are seeking emergency funding from a wide variety of sources and this award will go directly to program. “The S&S mission isn't something that leaves you when you leave the club. It is a permanent mindset of social responsibility that stays with you for life." Thank you for the consideration. See PeerSolutions.org or check us out on Facebook at
