A huge part of the problem of racism in this country. It is used as an excuse to committ a crime or hurt someone. It is deeply diappointing that Afro-American ministers are usually the ones stirring the pot. A Congress woman, who dresses like Annie Oakley immediately made hate statements that were completely wrong.I believe it is the clergy's of all faiths job to keep a clear head and open mind. This rush to justice is racial. 3 white people have been killed in Flordia since the Zimmerman/Martin incident. When interviewed by the media the punks response was white people don't belong in or neighborhood.
President Obama has used the race card in his attempt to be re-elected. He defies the Supreme Court and has run down the country so much that you can see the same feeling people had in the 50's creeping back into our society.
As people of Christ it is our duty to speak out against all bias. If we are true followers of Jesus Christ we need to speak the Gospel not lies and hate talk. Christ would not condemn the Romans who crucified him. it is the duty of all races to treat each other the way Jesus treated those who accused Him. Allow the justice to do their jobs, let the judges do their job, and let the lawyers do theit job.
It is wrong for religious people to judge each other but the sin goes deeper when you accuse someone just to spread anger and more violance.
Crime on the streets of our country has increased because of this rush to judgment.
Being different in life style, nationality, color, belief is not a reason to hate somone, wish them harm, or hold ill feelings.
Whoppie Goldberg on the View stated that this country wants to return all Afro-Americans to slavery. How could an educated person make such an impossible vicious statement like this?
As believers in Christ it is up to His disciples to rebuke this behavior, and speak up against the people and groups who want a divided country. We are all God's Children we need to start acting according to His examples and Words He died to place in everyones heart and mind an equal and loving way of life. Pray that the people will wake up and realize that this is the anti-christ doing these terrible deeds. It is a major goal of Satan to cause division Jesus want unity, peace, and love.
Satan has forced people to act in ways they would not usually act. Jesus does not want us to suffer. Satan is destroying every soul he can claim because people have fallen away from Jesus. Stand against Satan and all of his tricks. Jesus will keep His promise and we need to keep our Baptisimal promise to Him.

The primary focus is the loss of this man's life, whether he was black or not. Until all of the evidence & information necessary is gathered for our justice system, the only picture we have comes from the news, which isn't always accurate...partial pictures don't tell the whole story.

It could be a racist/vigilante crime, or maybe not, & justice will not return this young man to his family & friends either.

I feel that "crime watch" is essential in neighborhoods these days because our police force is often lacking manpower with a lot of crime due to drugs, etc. However, we'll never know how anyone will react in any given circumstance, tho' it seems that this patrolman did call in, but neglected to follow the advice given.

I too won't speculate until the full story is out. I will trust that the patrolman acted in response to being attacked but my heart tells me differently.

Answer to the question, the reason why its more tragic is that (controversial as it may) because the kid was black if the kid was a punk white kid trying to act black, it wouldn't have a huge impact. That's the reality that we live.

Well I heard that Trayvon attacked Zimmerman first before the gunshot. I rather hear about this unveiling before I make any decisions.

But for your question. I support standing your ground as I think the media is only covering one side of this. Trayvon's when maybe Zimmerman might have his reasons. Controversial but after the witness stated something maybe standing your ground was only the effect they have.

There has been much debate on this matter regarding if race was a factor, and after some deliberation I think it is indisputable that race was certainly a factor. There is a big misconception between white folks like myself that racism no longer exist in our free country, after all martin luther king jr's dream came true....right? Unfortunately this is terribly false and racism still lingers like a virus in our society.

There was no reason a gun should have been used or even carried by a neighborhood patrolman. I would imagine that pepper spray or a tazer would have been sufficient. I hope the best for the victims family.
