» The Son of the Sun
Julian Colgan
Posted February 11, 2012 by Julian Colgan in Beyond Religion
Everyone is consciously and subconsciously looking
for the light of a new day and a new age.
What we live for and look for is that
which brings warmth, comfort and joy.
The Sun is such a symbol for the
aforementioned qualities and embodies
and exemplifies the penetrating rays
of luminous knowledge.
Who can live in this world
without the presence of the internal and external Sun?
That which gives us hope is to be found situated
in the sky, but another type of Sun
dwells within the sanctuary
of the human mind.
One of the major benefits of staying close
to the Sun is that it nourishes within
all beings the will to live
and the will to give.
Also, all of the subconscious fears
which are generated by the appearance
of darkness immediately vanishes
with the coming of the beams
of internal and external
illumination.
Just as the Sun is mostly composed of light,
the human being can be
like a Sun for others.

I think everyone should have that special person that is the sun for them in times of need.

With all this talk of the Sun, what is the moon then?

From the perspective of alchemy, the Sun represents Spirit or the Father in heaven. The moon represents matter or the material world/universe. How this relates to us as humans is that we are internally like a Sun in that we have a spiritual component to our consciousness. The moon is our physical body and emotions. Thank you Allen for inquiring and being interested in this subject.
