» Paradox of Love
John Chuchman

Paradox of Love

Strangely,
I have become more Myself
as I have entered more deeply
into relationships with others.

In my ordinary consciousness,
I am separate
in time and in space,
but whenever,
I can move beyond
the limitations of time and space,
I experience
Oneness
with Others.

In deep relationships with Others,
I do not lose myself;
In fact, I lose my sense of
separation and division
and discover
my integral Oneness.

This is the Mystery of Love.

In Love, I do not lose my distinction as a person,
I become more fully Personal.

In Love,
I experience a taste of
humanity’s ultimate goal,
the Communion of Persons
in Love.

Could not agree more. I was actually thinking about this the other night. That relationships with others especially loving ones brings out a personal side of someone that is otherwise suppressed or not seen.

I think that is a good point. But I would argue that a relationship with ones-self can also bring to surface those different personal sides.

I get the message of this, But is this a poem or a song? Or is it both?

I think it's both. It has elements of one and the other, so quite possibly both.
